Our people were pained to hear of the death of Dr. R. W. Joyner of Woodland. For years this able physician served many of us faithfully and his memory will long be cherished in our homes. We deeply sympathize with wid ow and other bereaved ones. Mr. M. J. Britt is suffering from a very painful accident which occurred last Thursday afternoon. While attending to some of his farm duties, he was thrown from his horse against a stump, breaking his collar bone. Dr. Cook was summoned at once and gave the needed attention. Mr. Britt is doing as well as can be expected, though suffering considerably. New telephones have been placed in the homes of Messrs. J. T. Browne, to. J. Britt, and H. G. Snipes, and several others will be added soon we hear. A quiet voice, courtesy and kind acts are as essential to the part in the world of a gentleman as of a gentlewoman.
