Parker, B. F. Williams and E. J. Gerock. The committee appointed to se cure a member of the finance committee is farther continued. On motion the farm of Edgar Brett in Maneys Neck is reduced The committee appointed to se cure a location for the ferry house at Hills ferry is still con tinued. Messrs. E. J. Gerock and A. L Parker are continued as a com mittee on Jernigan and Poor Town bridges. The committee to repair Stoney Creek, Howard's Swamp and Flat Swamp bridges reports work completed. 0. W. Parker reports Jesse Moore bridge completed and the committee is discharged. On motion the board makes the price to be paid for coffins for paupers, in the future, not to ex ceed $4.00 instead of $3.00. On motion it is ordered that J. E. Matthews furnish to J. A, Dunning and wife $4.00 for the months of September and Octo ber, and that the matter will be further considered after that time. The tract of land of Mrs. J M. Tayloe in St Johns TownBhip is ordered reduced to $1,300. Mr. C. E. Bovette is instructed to have bridge at Vaughan's creek repaired. Commissioners S. P. Winborne and A. I. Parker are instructed to make arrangements, and have built a new flat for Hill's Ferry. On motion, the board author izes the expenditure of not to ex ceed $140.00 in securing the ser vices of the hookworm experts and towards establishing free dispensaries in the county for the treatment of this disease. It is ordered by the board that the tract of land of Mrs. P. H. Joyner be reduced to $2000.00. On motion, C. E. Boyette and S. P. Winbprne are appointed as a committee to look after and at tend to the water wavs at Como wharf and report. The following tax collectors appointed by the board for the coming vear: W. J. Hill for Maneys Neck township, D. L. Parker for Murfreeeboro, W. L. Matthews for Winton, A. J. Vin son for St. Johns, W. F. Jones for Harrellsville and J. A. Cope land for Ahoskie. Messrs. E. J. Gerock and A. I. Parker, committee, are given authority to make additional re pairs to Bear Swamp Dam and Mr. C. W. Parker is instructed to look after and repair Blue Water bridge. The Superintendent of Health of the county made his monthly report showing the health condi tions of the county, and urging the necessity of securing the services of the hookworm ex perts. Several bids and specifications were made to the board relative to building of iron bridge across Chinkapin Creek. The matter of letting the contract was de ferred until first Monday in Oc tober.
