The speakers named on the foregoing program represent the very best among our denomina tional leaders. The first three will lecture along the ; lines of Scripture teaching on the sub jects of "Missions" and "giving" and their speeches are intended especially for pastors, deacons, representatives of Missionary So cieties and other leaders of fin ance and missionary work, Sec retary Middleton's lectures on Sunday School work will be in tended especially for Sunday School workers. It is supposed that a number of Sunday School teachers are also teachers in the secular schools; hence the Sun day School lectures will be post poned till Friday evening, giving them the opportunity to attend. Some of these lectures will be illustrated by stereoptican views bo as to make them both enter taining and informing. It is con' fidently believed that to those who attend, this Institute will be worth far more than the ordina ry Union Meeting or Sunday School Convention. Let the Churches and Sunday Schools take this up at once and end a large representation, so -that the information and inspira tion of this meeting may spread over the whole Association. R. L. Gay. Earn hardt, on influence, taken from Romans 14 Chap. 7 verse, "For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself." At the close of the services 18 were received in the church. There are some yet to come in. We welcome all who will come in and trust we may be a blessing to thorn and they to us. The play given by the pupils of Milwaukee Graded School did credit to them. Mr. Armstead of Berkley. Va., visited in the home of Mr. M. C. Johnson from Saturday till Mon day. The Temperance Literary Soci ety will meet in the home of J. W. Piland Wednesday night. March 5th. A very interesting meeting was held last Wednes day night. Mr. Giles Bridgers was made President, Mrs. Ila Joyner Secretary, Mr. Charlie Coggins Assistant Secretary. We want to make this meeting a blessing to us all. On next Sunday the Honorary members regular meeting will be held after Sunday School. We hope to have a good meeting. Anon. Rather strange, is it not, that our State and National govern ments will spend so much for hog cholera serums to protect our hogs, and so little for diph theria antitoxin to protect our children? The time will doubt less come when we will protect our children from diphtheria as well, if not better, than we do our hogs from hog cholera, and then we shall also begin o realize the importance of public provi sion for ahti-rabic treatment for bites from mad dogs, anti-typhoid vaccination and smallpox vacci nation, as community or public protection, as well as private personal protection.
