Mr. Alcock wa borned and reared in Hyde county, until he was about 18 years of age. He then came to this countjT and has lived here at Hobucken and -Lowland ever since. He won many friends here especially amoug the people that was near his age. About 13 years ago he married a Miss Sadler oi' Hyde county. He b aves her a widow writh three children. In August of this year a society "T e Charitabbi Brotherhood' was organized '.A Hobucken and Mr Alcock was one of its charter members He was also J the first one of the members to die, although the Soeiet was so young in this county there was about 60 of the brothers to bury Mr. Alcock. He was burried ' yry nice y indeed,' - ' ' : The 60 members of the Society march ed 6 miles on foot from his thome at Low land to the Bennett burying ground at Hobucken where he was burried. W. corner of said land, tnenre S. 80 E. 20 poles along the line of said deed, thence N. 50 E. 203 poles more or less to the South Creek R6ad, thence with said road to the beginning, containing 25 acres more or lets. - And the said . defendant 5viJl further take notice that they are required to ap pear at the office of the Clerk of the Su perior Court of Pamlico County on the 19ih day ot December 1904 and answer or demur to the complaint which has al ready been filed in this proceeding or the plaintiff will apply to the Court for relief demanded in the said complaint.
