Mr. and Mrs. Arlie Daniels were visitors at Lola Sunday. Mr. Connie Lupton spent the week end at Stacy visiting relatives. Mr. George W. Daniels returned homef rom Beaufort Saturday where he attended court. Miss Pauline Lupton was th? guest of Miss Cereta Goodwin Saturday night and Sunday. A number of young boys from Lo la were in this community Saturday night and Sunday. Messrs. Herbert Styron, Otis Em ory and Monroe Gaskill of Lupton were in this community Sunday. Most of the shad fishermen have returned hone as they were not iatching many fish up Neuse river. ' OTVVAY r Mr. Clifford Davis of Davis attend ed service here Sunday. Mrs. Lula Mason and her mother Mrs. Taylor of Sea Level attended church here Sunday. There was a service held at the P. B. church Saturday night and Sunday by Elder W. W. Styron of Lola. Mrs. Joel Dowdy of Lucama spent the week end with her son and daugh ter in law Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Dow dy. Mr. James F. Hill who has been employed at Fr.irSeld is home now on the sick list. We all hope him a speedy recovery. Misses Teany, Annie and Mrs. Wheeler Lawrence attended the show at Marshallberg Saturday night. AH reported a fine time. Mr. Hugh H. Lawrence who ha; been employed at Fairfield for some time spent the week end with his wife and little son Hugh Jr. The little four year old son of Mr. and Mrs. James F. Hill seems to have many accidents. About a month ago he fell oft the side of a car and broke lis left arm and last week he fell down and hrnkp bis rio-hf rmo Fiiday night here, while on his way home from Bachelor. Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Pake, Mr. and Mrs. James Willis and Miss Thelma J Pake were at Otway for a short time : Sunday night. j Mr. Leslie Garner bought a new Ford roadster last week and has been j testing our new road very much since then. i We are very glad to say that Mr. C.itTord Lewis is improving from his iilness and we hope he will soon be able to return to his school at Ral- e:gh. The many friends of Mr. Fred Guthrie were sorry to learn he cut his foot badly one day last week. Professor P. H. Edwards attende to business in Morehead City Satur day. Messrs. John Guthrie and Sutton attended to business in Morehead City Saturday. There are several cases of mumps in our community. Mr. A. S. Taylor and family were visitors in Newport Sunday. Baggs) We are glad to know Georgia Can n' n who has been in the hospital at Morehead is very much improved and is expected home this week. Mr. Puckett Yates is very sick with pneumonia and we hope he will son recover. Mr. H. E. Taylor attended to bus iness in Maysville on Monday. J. H. Workman, Superintendent of county schools and an electrician were up here one day last week look ing over the school building, for the purpose of wiring the building for 10, 11. The weather is fine; farmers are all busy planting melons. Mrs. J. T. Gutnrie of Bogue spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs. E. A. Sanders who is still confined to her room. Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Brinson motor ed to Xew Bern one day last week accompanied by Mrs. A. M. Weeks. Messrs. K. R. Parker and B. J. Taylor spent last week in Eeaufort attending court. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Russell of Morehead City spent Sunday with Mrs. Russell's parents Mr.and Mrs. B. J. Taylor. Mr. Chester Wetherington and son Raymond of Jocksonville were call ers at the home of his daughter Mrs. H. T. Dickinson. Mrs. A. W. Foreman and two chil dren are sick with flu. We hope they will soon be in good health again. Mr. Cliirence Salter was the guest of Miss Marie Dickinson Sunday night. Mrs. M. R. There was a fishing party down at the Steel bridge Saturday, We did not learn what success they had. Mr. Alex Foreman and Mrs. J. H. Dickinson attended quarterly meeting at Riverdale Saturday. Rev.
