(SEAL) 4t-6-2-27 IN MEMORIAM OF NATHANIAL M. GASKILL. Mr. Nathanial M. Gaskill, son of George W. and "Sarah J. Gaskill of Gloucester, North Carolina, passed to his eternal rest March 31, 1927, when the golden sun was rising above the horizon with peacefulness and calmness and sending its, far reach ing rays over the earth; his Master said, so gently and so softlv: "Come" ! and he responded to the call without a murmur. He was 54 years and nine months old. "Nathaniel was a man of high in telligence and personality, a man of dignity and honor. He was a. true gentleman in every sense of the word. His wa- i sterling character." He made many friends during his stay on earth, and also made a name that is an honor to all his loveones, a r.'.me that is a priceless treasure on earth, and especially in Heaven. "A good name is rather to he chosen thani great riches.". His was a ster ling character, not a flaw could found, not a nicer man could found, his life was a credit to this place. When but a boy of nine he had his greatest misfortune, to lose his eye sight. Although he lived a life of darkness he saw the beauty of the world through touch, a keener feeling of beauty. He was an affec tionate brother, a devoted son and a warm friend. He was a member of the Methodist church. Straits circuit, until death claimed him. He sang bass in the choir leader for several years, then Mr. Fillmore Willis and organist Miss Jane Lefferts for he was an extra good bass singer. In a low soft. : sweet voice, we hear throutrh the j take, of tears in our hearts, the good i old hymn that he loved to sing, and ! which was his favorite "I love to tell j the story." Surely God called him I away to sing in the choir of Heaven, ana he responded quickly. The funeral services were held at the old home place on Friday morn ing April 1, by the pastor Rev. E. B.
