Mr. Clarence Whitehurst passed through here Tuesday on his way to Marshallberg. Mr. T. H. DeBerry of LVtroit, Mich., spent Tuesday and Wednesday here the guest of Miss Georgia Wade. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Smith attend ed church at Hadenots Sunday. Miss Nellie Lewis of Marshallberg spent Sunday with Mrs. Odell Smith. Mrs. H. H. Smith was on the sick list a few days last week. Mr. W. C. Dowty left Tuesday for Manteo where he has employment for a while. Miss Emily Dixon of Davis spent Tuesday afternoon here with Mrs. Tom Gilgo. Mrs. Fernie Smith has been sick but is much better now . Mr. Christopher Dennis who has been attending business college in Raleigh has finished his course, and is home with his parents Mr.and Mrs C. C. Dennis for as hort time before : ccepting a position. NEWPORT RT. 1 Mrs. Johnnie Garner, Clem Garner of Newport visited here Sunday. We sure had a nice rain this past week and it is good on the crops. Mr. F. E. Elliott was at Morehead City Friday on business. Miss Estelle Adams spent the week end visiting Miss Glennie Garner. Mrs. Sadie Pollard is on the sick list at present. We are all very sorry to say that Mrs. Lonnie Bell stepped on a can and was badly hurt. Mr.a nd Mrs. James A.
