Newport School To Present Operetta How Cave Men MaUe Paint Near the town of Les Eyzees in Southern France is a famous cave, where exists evidence that human beings lived and died there 25,000 years ago. These cave dwellers were known as "Reindeer Men." On the walls of this cave there re main paintings of prehistoric ani mals in bright colors as vivid as if they had just been painted. These paintings indicate that the reindeer men possessed a high degree of artistic skill and knew how to make excellent paint by grinding the pig ment with oil. To make their paint they used simple colors from the earth red, brown, yellow and black and mixed them with animal fats or oils in vessels made from the low er limbs of the reindeer. of the present a ua- Witness.
