Mrs. Sallie Shelton who under went an operation at Morehead City hospital last week returned to her home on Widnesrday of this wetk. Her sister, Mrs. Fannie Rhodes of Charlotte is with her while the is recuperating. Friends of Mrs. H. W. P.-ter-son of Pollock Street will be glad to learn that she is doing very well after having undergone a major operation Tuesday at Kins ton hospJtal. DINNER FOR BRIDGE CLUB After dinner, three progres sions of bridge were played at the end of which Mrs. Safrit held high ' score for the guests and was giv en an attractive piece of pottery. Miss Mildred Jonts with high for the club was given towels, and Mrs. Ed Potter with somewhat less was given a novelty glass dish. MR. TAYLOR IMPROVED Mr. Earl Taylor who was recent ly badly injured at his mill on the old New Bern Road when a saw tore his leg necessitating from 75 to 100 stitches is improving and has been about on crutches ail this week. He hopes to be able to discard them by the last of the week or the first of next.
