Miss Martha Duncan returned to Raleigh on Sunday following a visit of several weeks at the home of Miss Lena Duncan. Miss Margaret Bell of Newport spent the past week-end with Miss Mildred Daniels at Lenoxville. Mrs. Robert Moore Wallace is a guest of Mrs. William Potter on Marsh Street. Her sister, Mrs. X. E. Sam White of Clayton arriven in Beaufort Tues day for a weeks vacation. Rev. and Mrs. H. K. King and their daughter Caroline, of Hen derson, spent the jast week-end here. They left on Monday for Car olina Beach. E. H. Potter left Sunday for Philadelphia where he has gone for treatment. Tech. Sgt. Lis. and Coxswain Herman Leroy Simpson were married in the First Baptist Church, Washington, D. C, by the pastor, the Rev. M. P. German. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Liss of Lincoln Center, Kansas, who were unable to come for the wedding. In the absence of her father, she was giv en marriage by Lt. George Kelly USNR, and Mrs. Robert Carter, a pharmacist mate, w?s her matron of honor. Mr. Simpson choss as his best man, Electrician F. D. Bales and Yeomen C. W. Dixon and Rutn M. Rivers served as ushers. Following the ceremony tht wedding party was entertained at a reception at 1704 Eighteenth Street after which the young cou ple left for a brief wedding trip. Upon their return, they will be at home in Washington. Coxswain Simpson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Aivin Simp son of Beaufort.
