PEACE
" and on earth peace,
good will towards men."
Germany will celebrate its
sixth war Christmas on Mon
day. We shall celebrate our
third.
But when our children are
taking their first peep at the
Christmas tree Germany will
be deeply immersed in Tues
day and in Tuesday's troub
les.. Tuesday's troubles are
troubles of the world, troub
les of man. Christmas Day
joys are joys of a philoso
phy so great that the man is
a fool who attempts to qual
ify them.
" peace, good will
They have been given us.
But we are as a man with
a fertile field, with seed,
with a hoe but so lazy that
we lie' in the sun and starve.
