E, McIntosh and F. N. Cox won a unanimous decision oyer a| team representing • the University of Georgia after a most spirited con test held in Gerrard Hall. At the same time Messrs. H. E. Stacy and Mr. Edmonds measur ed arms with rem'esentatives of Washington and Lee ^University before an audience which taxed the capacity of the Grand Opera House in Greensboro. The decis ion in this debate was also unani mous in favor of Carolina. In these debates Carolina campion- ed the negative of the question Resolved: That all corporations doing an inter-State commerce business should be required to take out Federal Charters under such conditions as Congress may by law provide. Constitutional ity granted. Carolina, in thirteen debates, with the University of Georgia, has won all but four. Out of two debates with Washington and Lee she has lost one and won one. Out of the three-collegiate debates in whieh she has engag ed this year, the third being with the University of Pennsylvania, she has w^on' three. Carolina holds the distinction of having- won twenty-one out of twenty- eight contests during her debat ing career, and of having never lest a series. Among her rivals have been Johns Hopkins, George Washington University, Tulane, Vanderbilt, Washington and Lee, and the Universities of Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Virgina.
