Mr. Samuel Huffines, of the Peace church neighborhood, Guil ford county, who has been in declining health for a year or more, died at the home of his son in Geor^a with whom he has been spending some time. Mrs. Emily Cable May, com monly known as granny” May, died in her home near Elmira June 1st, 19^10, aged about 75 years and was buried at Frieden’s Lutheran church in Guilford county, the funeral being con ducted in the home by Rev. J. D. Andrew. The deceased was a sister of our townsmen, James and Wesley Cable. Her husband died during the Civil War.
