Its shell was nearly black and broken around the edges. Slier City Grit. The' citizens of Alamance are planning to build an up-to-date hospital, to be located at some central point in the county. This is a wise step and is in keeping with the progressiveness of our neighboring county. They re cently issued bonds for road im provement, and with their awak ened interest in school matters, this hospital project will place them in the fore-front of far-see-1 ing progressiveness. Schools, I health and comfort are the three i paramount duties which the pub lic, generally, owe to themselves. Albemarle CtareniGle. The shovel work on the South bound south of town is being fi nished and we learn that a sub grading crew began at Porter tnis week and is coming north.
