Rev. J. D. Williams pastor of the Methodist Protestant church moved into the new parsonage first of the week. It is a beauti ful building and we congi-atulate this congregation upon arranging so nice a home for their pastor. The Tobacco Market will open Thursday September _ the first. From present outlook it wUl pay farmers to save all the ^-round leaves of their tobacco in prefer ence to letting them burn as prices will be better owing to short crops. Rev. J. D. Andrew asks us to announce that the revival meet ing will begin at St. Marks Re- f ormed church at 8 o'clock p. m. next Tuesday August 16th. and will continue through the week with services every day at 11 a. m. and 8 p. m. The club at Elon College has always made it possible for young ^ men to abtain good board at cost and has always been Hberally patronized by Alamance county boys. This year the club will be one of the best in the institution’s history. The Lambeth property has been rented and the citizen near - by have agreed to rent rooms at reasonable rates to the club men. The manager this time is J. S. Truitt, a member of the Junior Class in Colfege, who la^^ com mencement won the Junior Alu mni Scholarship for this year. He has conducted the club before and is fully capable of carrying it forward to success. One of the disadvantages of clubbing in the past has been the lack of the home-like atmos phere. This virill be provided against this tirrie by having Mr. and Mrs. Egbert Truitt, of Bur- hngton, No. 8, look after the pre paration and sei’ving of the ineals and the keeping of the club house.
