Fresider.t T. C. Powell of the Oin-
ciiiati-New Orleans and Texas Pa
cific Riiiiway,, (Queen and Crescent
Route,j aniiounoes that a telephone
line ■'viil be immediately constructed
betwceii Oakdale, Tenn., and Chatta
nooga, a distance of 84 miles, upon
the completion of which the tele
phone will be Lised in dispatching
trains on the entire line between
Cincinnati and Chattanooga. The
telephone service was inaugurated
between Oakdale and Danville, Ky,-,
in 1912 and between Danville and
Cincinnati in October 1913. The line
between Oakdale and Chattanooga
will be constructed as quickly as pos
sible and work will begin as soon as
the necessary material can be assem-
* bled.
One bunch of bananas with each prize.

The C. N. 0. & T. P. has extended
the telephone system over its line
for the reason that its use has been
found to increase** both safety and fa
cilitate in handling trains. The tele
phone can be used more rapidly than
the teleg-raph and the sender and re
ceiver of are brought in
to direct contact which often proves
of great benefit. The 338 miles of
the C, ?T. 0. and T. P. from Cincin
nati io Chattanoog-a . are equipped
with automatic block signals and
about one thii’d of this distance is
double track. The extension of the
telephone dispatching system to cov
er the entire line will add further to
facilities for handling the very heavy
volume of traffic between the souths
and the west which moves over the
Queen arid Crescent Route in connec
tion with the Southern Railway.
AVALUABLESUGGESTION
IMPORTANT TO EVERYONE
It is now conceded by ohysi-
cians that the kidneys should
have more attention, as they con
trol the other organs to aremark^
able degree and do a tremendous
amount of work in removing the
pois-'on and waste matter from the
system by filtering the blood.
During the winter months es
pecially, when we live an indoor
life, the kidneys should receive
some assistance when needed, as
we take less exercise, drink less
water and often eat more rich,
heavy food, thereby forcing the
k id ney s to do more work than Na-
lure intended. Evidence of kid
ney trouble, such ais lame back,
annoying bladder troubles,smart
ing or burning, brick'dust seci-
inent, sallpvv complexion, rheum
atism, may be weak or irregular
heart action, warns yOu that your
kidneys require help immediately
to a void more serious trouble.
Many physicians claim that an
herbal rnedicine, containing no
minerals or opiates, has the most
healing influence. An ideal herbal
compound that has had most re
markable success as a kidney and
bladder remedy is Dr, Kilmer's
Swarnp-E(X)f.
You may receive a sample bottle
of Swamp-Root by Parcels Post.
Address Dr. Kilmt r & Go., Bing
hamton, N, Y , and enclose ten
cents; also mention the Burling
ton Weekly State Dispatch.
