A man living in this township sheaied his sheep in the latter part of March in order to save . nice lot of wool, and the cold came and ho had to wrap them up in quilts and blankets in order to save them-. We sympathize with a young man of another county who came to see his girl in this section, and unfortun ately turned over the table and de stroyed all of the old lady's dishes. ViVa. SOUTH CLINTON. Quite : storm, supposed to be the same at whose hands Waisaw fared so roughly, passed over the place of Mr. M. M. May Cth Mr. Editor: Your corre pondent recently paid visit ti Clinton and : upon suggestion Iiasueeiaea to write ; a short letter to The Caucasian, and tell its readers of a few pleasttnt Impressions of your beautiful town and the good county f Sampson. We saw many improvements In iiin- tou since our last visit, but discover ed that to see Clinton in all Its beau ty, Spring is the time. The magnifi cent shade trees, which line the streets, and the lovely flower gardens which adorn the yards of-many or of the residences make Clinton a ver itable little haven of peace, and plea sure. In addition to the natural beauty, the town is fortunate in hav ing a good back country full of thrif ty and progressive farmers, who do their trading with Iw clever and live merchants. . We could write a paper full of Clinton and its hospitable people, but The Caucasian would doubtless object to it so we will close this part of the letter by saying we mean every word we say about the place.
