Tlie Union Meeting of this Asso ciation was held with the church at White Ok, December 27th, 2Sth and 29th. Introductory sermon was preached by Elder D. W. Tew. Ish am Royal was re-elected moderator, Elder D. W. Tew assistant modera tor, J. 13. Downing clerk, II. C. Mc Neill assirtant clerk. Elder F. 11. Underwood, AmmaAldenr.au and J. D. Pjpe were 'appointed Query committee. The subjects discussed were: 1st. The essentials in the constitu tion of a Baptist church. 2nd. The plan of cailmg pastors. The discussions were participated in by Elders Underwoo'T, Bland, Tew and others. The discussions were instructive and a spirit of har mony pervaded the whole meeting. A Church Covenant was read and fully explained, and its obligations impressed upon the brethren. Elder Wm. liland preached on Saturday and on Sunday Elder F. It. Underwood preached tho Mission ary Sermon.' The Executive Board of the Association held their meet ing, received the reports of the Mis sionaries and paid them Tor pas work. The meeting was well attended, and the good brethren and friends in the vicinity of White Oak sh wed a hearty welcome, both in the hospi tality at their homes and the good thing? for the inner man, which they carried to their meeting. A few years ago the members of this church seeing the need of a bet ter house of worship, pulled down the old heus3,and wlthacommend.i ble spirit, erecteia new house.
