The above is another cot made with an ordinary pocket knife by Norman Jennett on cherry wood J We had tae pleasure of hearing Mr. W. P. Fife in Goidsboro last Friday Quite a number of Clintoaians were pre sent. The Argus sys of the meeting: "The congregation that gathered un der the tent Friday night was the vast est gathering we have ever seen in Goids boro. It exceeded by several hundred the largest of the Pea .-son congregations here, four years ago. The choir seemed to be in touch with the spirit of tho great gathering, and the singing was tru ly sublime. Mr. Fife, too, seemed at his best, and preached one of the most powerful sermons that, we imagine, has ever been delivered to mau sinca tho days of Paul ; so much so, that when he announced an inquiry meeting at its clo.-e tho first he has held and invited all who had b?en converted and all sin ners desiring conversion to remain, sev eral hundred kept their seats as the con gregation filed out, while the ChristUn workers who had remained to assist went among tbein with the me&s Ages of the Scriptures and pleading the merits of salvation. It was a moving, it was thrill ing, it was a sublime scene." Mr. Fife will hold a meeting in Clin ton the first of October. This will bo heard with great p'easuro by his many friends. Personals. Sir.
