The'Dein- Jud of EU.(.tion Uukr the State election law the State Force bill shut themselves up in a dark bull pen in the Eastern counties, so that no one can see their infamous theft and fraud. Therefore any law which would allow any man, who was not the hireling and tool of the machine, to be in their presence, their immediate presence and to watch their proceedings, was a very "vile law. In 1S112, Mr. Sim nions, the chairman of the Democra tic State Ex. Com., asked the Attor ney General of the State, Hon. T. In another column in this paper we publish the opinion of the Attorney General General under date of Oct. 31, 18'J2, in full. Th following is the closing paragraph: "I therefore am of the opinion that Supervisors in county and parish elec t ion districts have not the right, as such supervisors, to challenge voters, or to make lists of registered elec tors, or to scrutinize ballots or re turns. In fact, they have no duties to perform with respect to registra tion, but simply to be "in the imme diate presence of the olliecrs holdiug the election and witness all their proceeelings, including the countings of the votes and making the returns thereof."
