A new industry has just been put id operation twenty odd miles up the Cdi-1'ear ILlver that is owned iod managed by a Wilmington man, Mr. Ii. F. Keith. The Industry is for the manufacture of land plaster. The factory occupies a site at what w known as Neal's Eddy, but which before the Revolutionary War was called Port Vernon. The new plant embraces an out lay of many hundreds of dollars. It started up last Wednesday and . . This means that phos phate lime rock is being crushed to hat extent every day unless the weather is too Inclement to permit work. The rock has been thorough y tested and shows between eighty and ninety per cent, carbonate of ime. it has also been practically rled by Mr. Keith on his vast farm and by several other extensive irmers and it has always proven of he best quality of fertilizer for coro, peanut?, potatoes, etc. Mr. Keith says the deposit of rock U enough to last for years and that the machinery he has installed will enable him to furnish it to the rade promptly, lie has now sev eral big orders to fill and is ready o fill more on short notice.
