Yesterday was the last day for fil ing names with the Register of Deed of candidates for the Legislature, State officers, and precinct commit teemen for Wake County for both parties, to be voted upon in the Wake primary to be held June 1st. The delegates named above are white, and the precinct committee- men are all colored men. It ap pears that Mr. Loge Harris and his followers have made a bargain with the colored men that they will sup port them and make them the com mittee chairman and all in the Sec ond Division of the Fourth Ward, if the colored men will in turn vote for their list of delegates. Mr. Andrews and his followers secured all the ne gro votes they could at Method in the last primary. In fact, there were few white men there that would Tote for them, and it is understood that some of the colored men at Method will not support the Harris-Andrews f crowd this time but are going to stand off and look on. K Col. Harris and his friends probab ly thought they made a good bargain when they secured the negro vote in the Fourth Ward. However, It will not help him in the end, for the Re publicans of Wake County will not nominate him for the Senate. THE MARKETS RALEIGH COTTON YESTERDAY. (Quoted by Barbea & Co.)
