Herbert Hoover as chairman of the
board of directors of the food admin
istration grain corporation and re
organization of the corpratin under
the , name "United. States Grain Cor
poration,", was . announced at the" an
nual meeting of stockholders here
Tuesday.
Mr. Hoover's place as chairman
"will be filled by Julius Barnes, wheat
director, who also is president of the
corporation , -
It was stated Mr. Hoover would
continue as a director, but that his
resignation of the chairmanship mark
ed - the first step toward his retire
ment from public life. Mr. Hoover is
expected to return to the United
States in' about two months, upon
completion of the European relief
work and the fruition of the Euro
pean harvest.

DANCE PROTESTS;
MADE TO OFFICIALS
Asheville, July 2. Bringing pro
tests from the. members of their con
gregation, who had voted on the
question at Sunday services, minis
ters of several of the local churches
appeared before the city commission
ers in opposition to the proposed
street dance, which the members of
the entertainment committee for, the
returned men of the 81st division, will
give here the evening of July 4.
The commissioners heard the minis
ters and others who had been author
ized by their, churches to report, but
did not take ' any action. Official per
mission has already been given bv
the city board to the committee, to
stage the dance in the Grove Park
section.
CENSORSHIP REMOVED.
