Charles Troy Smith, of Liberty, and Mrs. Elizabeth Davis Trotter, of Salisbury, were mar ried at the home of the bride's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Davis, on South Main street, Wednesday at noon. The ceremony was performed by Archdeacon Hardin, of the Episcopal church, and Dr. Bryon , Clark, of First Presbyterian church. The couple has gone on a trip through Western Carolina and upon their return will be at home at Lib erty where Mr. Smith is in business. LADIES' FOUR-PIECE SKIRT. It is probable that steps will be taken at the meeting to form a local association of grocers, a step that has been contemplated from time to tim-i and has been considered by many lead ing grocers of the city. Mr. Findlay's subject will be "Re tail Merchandising." He was for 3d years actively engaged in this business and in addition to the knowledge thus gained, he has been a keen student cf the problems of the retail grocer an3 the business standpoint of an economist. Because of his recognized qualifications to speak for grocers and merchants of other classes, he has been associated in an important capacity with the California Fruit Growers organization.
