The presence of about thirty untried prisoners in the jail of Mecklenburg county prompted Solicitor Wilson to ask Governor Cameron Morrison for a spe cial tedm during this month of the trial of the prisoners- Mmy of them have been in jail fvr several montns, Some of them are in for only minor offenses and their continued incvarcera tion, when they are charged with small offenses, leads tire solicitor to the con clusion that in justice may be done some defendants by being kept in jail for a long period when they may be innocent. It was because recent ses sions of criminal court had too crowd ed a docket that the prisoners in jail were not reached. A few are in :ail because they were jailed since the last court.
