Announcement
We have just completed installing an electric Bur
glar Alarm System, which we will be glad to show and
explain to our customers and friends. On Wednesday,
December 7th, we will have an expert from the factory
with us all day who will explain the system and we in
vite the public to look it over, especially from three to
six p. m.
In 1920 we had built a modern steel lined vault of the
very latest and most up to date construction, with the
idea that we might feel safe and secure in renting de
posit boxes to our customers. We were able to get Bur
glary insurance on our own cash and securities but
were unable to insure contents of customers' deposit
boxes, being unable to specify contents. Knowing that
they contain a larger proportion of negotiable securities
payable to bearer now than ever before, and realizing
that recent modern invention enables experts with
torch, using combinations of gases, to burn through
concrete, cast iron, or steel with an alarming degree of
speed, we began an investigation of electric alarm sys
tems, and selected the McClintock System.
The vault, top, sides, bottom and door are com
pletely covered with a net work of wires one and one
half inches apart. Any thread of one of these wires
being cut or subjected to excessive heat will release the
circuit and sound the alarm. A turn of. the combination
lock, cutting of any wire to the gong or any tampering
with the box containing the gong will set it off. For
any day light attempt at robbery there are height sta
tions within the counters which only require to be step
ped on to set off the alarm. The metal case enclosing
the gong is on the front of the building and the alarm
when turned in can be heard from the City Hall to the
court house, and the Police department will know where
to come when they hear the alarm.
We feel confident we are giving to our customers
every protection to their securities that can be offered,
being the kind of protection used by the Government
and the Federal Reserve Banks of the country.
We are now content to urge the use of these boxes
which rent from $1.50 per annum and up.

Good prices for cotton and Seasonal Fall
business combined with more optimistic attitude
will put more money in circulation.
Nevertheless we advise Sticking fairly close
to a cash basis. A moderate business on cash
basis is better than a big business with widely
extended credits.
We invite your business and offer every cour
tesy and accommodation consistent with Safe
Banking.

THE EMERGENCIES
OF WINTER
The rigors of winter cause many
more or less real emergenries in the
health of a family's members. Walker's
preparedness to meet the ordinary and
extraordinary needs of Chariot le's peo
ple gives this establishment the position
of being a real asset to the commu
nity and a protection in time of need.

Save It Today Boys
for there was never an hour when it was more necessary to have a ready
stake if one would accomplish anything worth while, or would seize opportu-
i nities as presented.
BARGAINS ARE LOST
to you because j-ou haven't saved, and the little fellow you used to laugh at
gets the coon skins and wears the diamonds. Money is far too centralized, but
some money you must have, and have it honestly, therefore save and do it now.
A FOOL CAN MAKE MONEY
but the wise guy is the only saver, and he's "the only pebble on the beach."
The fellers in this village who make the mare go struggled in youth and laid
up for the rainy days. Achievement is the roadbed to happiness.
OUR INSTALLMENT SHARE
at 25c per week is Messing thousands, and today accounts for the multitude of
homes now under construction in Charlotte. Every man and woman should
carry just as many of these as possible. You can get 'em back to October,
but if you want to see George, wake up. Can prepay some of these, too.
thus using your surplus to best advantage.
OUR DIVIDEND SHARES
will one day bless this town and every man that works within it. Keep your
sugar at home and let every feller have a slice of apple pie. Ours must stay
at home and it's a crowning virtue, believe me.
SELLING 'EM HOURLY
and we just naturally love to tell folks how to get rich, to be happy and to
3mile, smile alt the while.
