Mor.roe, and other cities of this section, was solemnized In Central Methodist, church, Monroe, Monday evening, the bvide being Miss JiCland Evelyn Armfield, the groom, Joseph Alexander Privett, the former of Charlotte, the latter of Monroe. Xumbers of friends witnessed the cere mony in Central Methodist church, the pastor officiating. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mrs. M. Tj. Armfield, of Charlotte. She wore a stylish suit of dark brown tricotine with accesories to match, her corsage being ol' pink roses. After the ceremony the bride and groom left for a. trip to New York and i.ther points north. They will be at home in Monro? after December 5. The bride is especially attractive, her l-ersonality mopt winsome. The groom is a young man of standing iii his com munity, commanding hundreds of friends there and in this city where ho is also weil known. Mrs. Scruggs Hostess For Mrs. Adams. In honor of Mrs. H. The Harriet Sanders Barium Springs Circle meets with Mrs. S. O. Brookes Tuesday afternoon at her home on South Tryon. The Circle is named for Mrs. Brookes' mother, the late Mrs. L,. W. Sanders, who was devoted to the cause which the orphanage represents and one of the most liberal of contribu tors to that cause. Mrs. Horace Johnston who is in a hospital in Boston where, several days ago. she underwent an operation for appendicitis and complications, is rest ing comfortably and no untoward symp toms have followed the operation. She was accompanied to Boston by Mr. Johnston and her mother, Mrs. H. II. Orr. Dr. Bridges To Attend Dedication. Rev. Dr. J. R. Bridges leaves the latter part of the week for Wilming ton to be present and take part in the exercises attendant upon the dedica tion of the new Sunday school house of the Church of the Covenant, the latter the chiirch to which the Sprunts donated such magnificent sums. Dr. Peyton Hoge. former pastor of the church, will be present, also Rev. Dr. V. R. Dobyns, of Atlanta. Mrs. Wadsworth To Entertain For Charming Visitors. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. C. Lee, the Beldoc, S. C, planter, who was brought to a local hospital three weeks ago today, suffering from a strange malady which quickly result ed in the death of his wife and three children and which was believed by residents of the Beldoc section to have been caused by poison put into a well on the Lea farm, is still seriously ill, very little change having been shown in his condition. Sheriff Bennett, of Allendale countv. I stated this morning that he was still awaiting reports from the laboratories at Charleston and Columbia, where or gans removed from the body of Mrs. Lee were sent, before taking any ac tion. Dr. J. H. COMPLETION OF JURY TODAY HOPED FOR Los Angeles, Calif., Nov. 29. The fifth day of the trial of Arthur C. Burch, charged with murder of J. Bel ton Kennedy, found the legal battle, for the completion of the jury still in pro gress. Attorneys for both prosecution and defense expresed the hope it would be completed today and the taking of testimony begun. Of the 11 jurors tem porarily passed, 10 are women. has always given the best that lies in its power to the upbuilding of Charlotte, lending its re sources and facilities to the extension of legiti mate enterprises.
