Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Tillett wil give a dance at the Charlotte Country Club in honor of their daughter, Miss Laura Tillett, who will be home for the holidays from Salem College. A dance is being planned for Christ mas Eve, Saturday night, by several young men of the city, the affair tobe given in the city auditorium. Plans as to this are not definite as yet. Beginning Monday morning at 12:30 o'clock A. M.. there will be a breakfast dance given by several young men of the city dancing to begin at 12:30 and continue till 6 A. M., with a buffet breakfast served at 5 A. M. Music will be furnished by the Serenaders. On the evening of the 27th, the E. L. V. club, an interesting organization in the younger set. will give a dance at the Charlotte Country club. Music by the Southern Melody sextette. On the afternoon of AVednesday, the 2Sth, Mrs. John It. Pearson will give a bridge-party at the Charlotte Country Club for Miss Annie Laurie Hayes of Norfolk, Aa., who will be her guest at that time. On Wednesday evening, the Charlotte Cotillion Club will give its Christmas dance at the Southern Manufacturers' Club. On the evening of Friday, the 30th. the Mecklenburg chapter D. A. R. will give a subscription dance in the city auditorium, the proceeds to go toward the building of a monument at Camp Greene to the men who were in training there during the war. Among the other festivities will be the dances to be given by the Benedicts and the Ace of Clubs, and the regular Saturday evening dinner dances at the Charlotte Country Club and the Myers Park Club. Markels to Play Saturday Night The initial dance of the series of holiday dances will be given at the Myers Park Club Saturday evening. when Markels orchestra of New Yorx city will play. This danco is given es pecially for the members tC the My era Park and Charlotte Country Clubs, the Charlotte Cotillion Club, the Ace of Clubs and the Benedicts. Dinner will be served before the dance as usual, from 6:3o to 7:45, and Markels will furnish music during din ner. A number of charming dinner parties will take place before the 1an-e Owing to the fact that the dance takes place on Saturday evening, dancing will begin at 7:45 and continue only till midnight. Richard B. Stitt is managing the dance, and states that Invitations have been issued to dancers in'ftearby towns, and that a large number of Davidson students have signified their intention of coming down for the event. A vi um ber of the college set will have arrived home for the holidays for the dance, and their presence will add greatly to the pleasure of the evening. Rev. and Mrs. Xorket Have Anniversary Dinner A most enjoyable birthday anniversa ry dinner was held at the home of Rev. and Mrs. L. R. One of the "most brilliant and suc cessful subscription card parties ever given in the city was that of Friday, which took place at the City Audi torium, in connection with the bazaar being held Friday and Saturday by the club.
