Xcws of the approaching: marriage of Miss Moseley and Mr. Love will be of much interest in the city. Miss Moseley is a native of Kansas City. Kansas, and is an exceptionally charming young woman. She s a strikingly handsome brunette, with black liair and eye. She was educated at Brenau college, Gainsville, Ga., and is bright and cultured. She recently visited in the city, en route to Florida from her home in Kansas City. Mrs. Love is a son of Mr. an! Mrs. John F. Love, of Myers Parle, Char lotte, lie attended the State college- at Raleigh for some time, bain.? a mem ber of the Students' Army Training corps of that institution during' the war. He attended the United States Naval academy at Annapolis, until; very recently. At present, Mr. Love is engaged in the cotton business with his unr-le, W. T. Love, of Gastonia, and is a young man of splendid ability and at tractive personality. He commands a host of friends here, in Gostonia, and elsewhere. Miss Fisher Celebrates Birthday. Miss Sarah Louise Fisher entertained about 75 of her little friends Tuesday afternoon at her home on East Vance street, in celebration of ter 9th birth day. She was assisted in entertaining by her mother, Mrs. Adam Fisher, and her grandmother, Mrs. F. K. Shelor o Anderson, S. C, and received her guests in a pretty frock of taffeta. The Yuletido decorations were used with lovely effect throughout the house. Games and dancing were enjoyed dur ing the afternoon. In a guessing con test, a box of candy was agarded as prize. V hen the games were concluded Misa Fisher invited her guests into the dining-room, where, in the center of the table, sat an immense birthda angel-food cake, in the shape of a heart holding nine lighted candles. Refresh ments were served, and the birthday cake cut. During the afternoon, photographs o the party were taoken. also a picture of the three generations represented daughter. Miss Fisher, mother. Barkalow was hostess at an attractive bridge at the Myers Park Club Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, the tables being laid in one of the artistic card-rooms of the club house. Fox, under the ausices of the Woman's Club, last Saturday after noon at the city auditorium where the '.Toman's Club bazaar was in progress, and which was a great success, is to be repeated Saturday evening at the citv auditorium at S o'clock the pro ceeds to go to the Julia Jackson chap ter. The lovelv little son and daughter of Mrs. Harper dressed as bride and groom, marched down the stairway into the living room and pre sented Miss McWhirter with a ball of twine and asked her to follow- the string. at the end of Which she fould a kitch en shower uniquely arranged arouna a housewife and attached to each gift an appropriate rhyme, written by the person presenting it. The decorations were appropriate to the holiday season and on the center of the dining table was a bride's cake crowned by a minia ture bride and groom. Refreshments were served. fn Honor of Miss Jenkins, Bridge-Elect. Miss Bessie Hunsuck delightfully en tertained at her horn 3 on East Boule vard, Dil worth, Monday evening from 8 to 11 o'clock, in honor of Miss Ruth Jenkins, whose marriage to Frank Odell Sherrill takes place on Wednesday. The color scheme Was green and red. Several interesting Contests were en Joyed during the evening, after which a salad course was served. Miss Jen ins received many lovely gifts from her friends. Mrs. L. Ai. Goldsmith, Sr.. is recover ing, following: two operations at the Charlotte Sanitorium. Battle of Charlotte Chapter to Pack Box. The Battle of Charlotte chapter, D. A. R. is to send a Christmas box of old clothing and other articles to Mrs. Man- Martin Sloop at Crossmore. Mrs. J. T. Paschall is in charge of the packing of tne box. Story Hour at Carnegie Library. Friday afternoon, beginning at 4 o clock, story hour will be observed at Carnegie library. Mrs. C. B. Floyd, one of Charlotte's most gifted tellers of stories, will tell Christmas stories. Dinner-Party for Miss Mahler. Miss Ann Mahler, of New York, charming house-guest of Mr. and Mrs. George C. Hall, will be honor guest at a dinner-party to be given at the Myers Park Club Thursday evening, preced ing the dance, by a party of young men. Two Christmas Eve Dances. A number of young men of the citv are planning two elaborate dances for Saturday, Christmas Eve, to be held ei ther in the city auditorium or at the Myers Park Club. Personals Miss Mary Alys Lindsay, of Wadesbo ro, who is a student at Queenns College, will spend Thursday evening as thy guest of Miss Terry Bland, leaving th city Friday morning for her home, to spend the Christmas holidays. Later, Miss Bland will go to Wadesboro to vis it Miss Lindsay, and to attend the mar riage of her cousin, Miss Harriett Hard ison. Mrs. W. S. Creighton has returned from Wilmington where she spent the past ten days visiting Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gregson. She will go to Wash ington Friday to spend a month with her mother, Mrs. Thomas G. Reilley. Mrs. Ross Cannon returned to her home in York, S. ., Tuesday, after a short visit to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Lowe, on East avenue. Mrs. Can non motored up to take her children, Ashlyn and J. W. Cannon, jr., home. They have been spending a short while here with their grandparents. David Lowe will upend New Year's Day in New York.
