S Dec. 17, 1921. The western disturbance is centered this morning over northern Indiana, covering the country from the upper Lakes to the central Gulf coast. ' Its movement has been attended by gen eral precipitation from the central and west Gulf coast northward to the upper Lakes and the upper Mississippi vaney, mostly in the form of light io moderate rains, except that the rain has turned into snow in Kansa3 Iowa, Minnesota and South Dakota. Heavy rainfalls are reported from Mo bile. Pensacola and Chicago. The northwestern "high"' has moved rapidly and followed closely behind this disturbance the center being ove western Texas. It has caused much colder weather in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona and thence northward to northern portions of South Dakota and Minnesota. Freezing temperatures prevail southward to northwest pm Texas, and zero or slightly below in Wyoming. The pressure is falling and tempera tures are rising in the extreme north western slates. Warmer weather' also prevails east of the lower Mississippi and the Ohio valleys.
