To Give Dance.
One of the most" interesting' events
cf the season will be . the subscription
dance to be given by the Mecklenburg
chapter, I). A. H., Friday evening in
the city auditorium, from 9 to 1, fur
the benefit of the chapter's Camp
Greene monument fund.

a charming bridge at the Charlotte
Country Club Wednesday afternoon in
honor of Miss Annie Laurie Hayes, of
Norfolk, Va., who is visiting her at
her home in the Elmore apartments.,
The tables were placed in the ball-
room of the club, which was decora
, ted elaborately for the Christmas fes
1 tivities which have taken place there.
At the conclusion of the game. Mrs.
Pearson served a salad course with ac
cessories. Prize for the highest score

Among the Christmas festivities was
the party given Tuesday by Miss Mary
Lois Grier, o? Pineville, for twelve of
her little pupils, Miss Grier has been
the efficient assistant at Mclver School
for two years and entertained the little
folks ul her mother's home near Pine
ville at a spcnd-the-day affair.
The pupils from Mclver were Misses

fruit, cake, and home-made candies
were served. The country dinner was

have returned from a several weeks'
bridal triD and are at home for the
present in the Churchill apartments.
They first went to New York, taking
boat there for Miami, Fla. Prior to

Bliss Mar jorie Barker.
Barker of Michigan City, Ind., has entered suit in the Norristown, Pa.,
court to compel the Bryn Mawr college authorities to reinstate her. She
was dismissed last spring after a series of petty thefts had been
ascribed to her by college authorities. She denies the charges. It is
believed she will not re-enter, but desires only to obtain her credits and
complete her education in some otheT colleffe.
