Will Harris, the noted criminal, who has thrice given the officers of this county the slip, has been located in At lanta, where he is "now serving a term of imprisonment for counterfeiting. Harris' term will not expire before 1901 and Sheriff Wallace has notified the Georgia officials that Mecklenburg would like to have a chance at him. It will be recalled that Harris escaped from the county jail by dig ging through the wall. While at the convict camp he made his escape twice. He is said to be guilty of numerous crimes and is an all-rotnd bad man. He was first arrested here for steal ing a bicycle from Berryhill & Bryan's store. It afterwards developed that he had taken a wheel, the property of Mr. Baxter Davidson. BRIEFS.. Maj. J. G. Harris' is still at the Private Hospital. He is improving daily. The merry-go-round has moved back to the park where it will remain the balance of the season. There will be a special meeting of the session of the First Presbyterian church tomorrow afternoon at 5:30 o'clock in the church parlors. Rev. A. D. Hunter of Raleigh, will preach at Friendship Baptist church in Berryhill township Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The receipts at the cotton platform today amounted to S bales.
