Mr. Henry Blount, of lecture platform note gave the Sun a most en joyable call yesterday afternoon, says the Salisbury Sun. With a delightfully interesting story, he amused the Sun force by a rehearsal of his experience while a young man. Mr Blount said that in his younger vears he vas seized with a desire to go upon the stage. He said he believed he could make the greatest actor on the American boards and wrote frequent letters to Edwin Booth then in New York. Booth paid no attention to them and finally Mr. Blount went to New York to see him. Finding his quarters, he asked for admission which was re fused. Mr. Blount insisted upon being given a chance to see Booth and the tragedian finally allowed Blount to see him. "Wh t do you want" said Booth very gruf ?" '"I want to join your theatrical company" was the modest reply. "And what can you do. Booth again asked. "I am a greater actor than you are," the aspiring fellow said, "for you can do tragedy only, while I am just as good as a comedian." He "doesn't lack cheek, if he does talent," Mr. Booth remarked to a by-sitting friend. "Let me hear you give Mark Mark Anthony's oration over the grave of Caesar." And when Mr. Blount had finished this, the great actor warmly grasped his hand and congratulated him. "Now what can you do in com edy?" "I can beat Joe Jefferson in Rip Van Winkle," Mr. Blount stoutly de clared. "That's Mr. Jefferson, sitting there." Mr. Booth ejaculated, and Mr. Blount gave something from Richelieu which completely captured the great tragedian and the equally great come dian. ' Booth, immediately offered him 3rd place in his company, and he came back to. North Carolina the happiest mortal on earth. He told his home people and his sweetheart, the latter especially discouraging his histrionic hopes. "I thought then that a man never loved but once" Mr. Blount quietly remaked, but I have loved seven hundred times since and . they talked me out of it. Booth frequently told me that I had missed a fortune by missing ,the stage. He wrote me friendly letters up to the time of his death. I did some newspa per, work in New York and once attend ed a great concert and was persuaded tc write it up. The editor of the World pushed the production aside contemp tuously, the editors of two other papers did the same and I was asked to give it to the Tribune. I said I wouldn't sub mit it to a radical paper, but did final ly and it so happened that the musical critic was away and my article was printed. I-was then enabled by reason of a Tribune check to go everywhere in" New York. Afterwards I returned to Wilson hoping to make the Mirror as big a paper as the Tribune. After fif teen years, I gave up the idea." Mr, Blount has other interesting things to relate of his evintful life and they would fill columns too. FIGHT WILL BE BlTTER. It is no longer necessary to spend time and money by going to the Springs. , The Water is reduced to such a degree that 8 ounces of it equals io gallons of the Natural Water, and produces much better results than if this quantity was used at the Springs. The Concen trated Water contains 20 different minerals, which are nearly identical with those compos ing a healthy human system. When a person is sick, it shows that some of these important minerals have escaped, and health cannot be expected until they are replaced. ; There is no treatment known to science which restores lost vitality like Piedmont Concentrated Iron and Alum. If you have two or three complaints, it will cure all of them just as easily as if you had only one, for it gets into your system thoroughly, and gives to every organ of the body that which is needed, whether it be iron, magnesia or aluminum, etc. Should there be several sick ones in your family, give the Concentrated Water a trial for your own disease this will prove what we have said; then let them all drink at this Celebrated Mineral Spring, which you have placed under your own roof. . If we cannot benefit you your money is not wanted, but we have yet to see a person give it a fair trial without being cured or greatly benefited. Such diseases ls Indigestion, Rheumatism. Kidney and Bladder Troubles. Catarrh Female Complaints, Torpid Liver, Stomach and bowel Troubles, Scrofula and all Blood Diseases are being cured every day by this Remedy, and we want every person in need of such a. treatment to give it a trial.
