.Reports
(Keports Received by Private Wire
by Howell & Dodsworth.)
New York, July 3. C. W. Lee &
o. say: ur course, tne most impor
tant thing of the week has been the
government report which appeared to
day. The showing was practically what
everyone had expected. - That is, while
a few thought the figures might be as
high as 80 and some said the condition
might be only 75, the majority looked
for a showing between 76 and 78 and
when the report was read 77.1 there
were more brokers who could say" I
told you so, than there has been at anyx
government report on cotton in tne
last year. All last summer showings
were a repeated surprise and of course
the one issued a month ago was equal
ly so. The market dec-lined somewhat
after the figures read, quite as much
because an improvement of three
points had taken place as because
operators were waiting for figures to
be out of way before selling distant
positions. Short covering in anticipa
tion of bureau had been general and
traders desired an opportunity to get
their cotton out again. There is noth
ing brilliant in the present condition.
This must not be forgotten. We be
lieve the present outlook for the crop
is better than it was July 3rd , last
year, notwithstanding figures last year
were seven points higher. The plant
is sturdy and vigorous.
.now tne question is what are we go
ing to do in future market?
The answer to this question seems to
grow more difficult each week. There
is nothing in the new crop to induce
buying of cotton at 10 cents. In fact,
we shall be gravely disappointed if
December and January do not work
back to 9 1-2. But there is a cotton
corner of most gigantic proportions
that trade has ever seen in progress
It is not in the power of human mind
to estimate what outcome of this at
tempt to dictate prices will be. All
inis couon may De disposed or at la
rents a pound and we may see a crash'
ibat will carry down, the price of cot
ton below a normal basis. ' Mills
throughout the world- are gradually
shutting down their machinery and
throwing people out of employment.
The effect in the industrial world
of such speculation is far reaching
pnd for this reason future operations
should be undertaken in a very con
servative fashion. We would like to
see new crops get down towards a 9
eent bg$j fcefare - investing to any
great extent.

The market will be dull and feature

The evening-up, of course, will make

VERY REMARKABLE CURE OF
DIARRHOEA. v
A.bout six years ago for the first
time in my life I had a, sudden and
severe attack of diarrhoea," says Mrs.
Alice Miller, . of Morgan, Texas. "I
got temporary relief, but it came back
again and again, and for. vsix long
years I have suffered "'more misery
and agony than I can tell. It was
worse than death. My husband spent
hundreds of dollars -for physicians'
prescriptions and treatment without
avail. Finally we moved to Bosque
county, our present home, and one
day I happened to see an advertise
ment of Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera
and Diarrhoea Remedy with a testi
monial of a niah who had been cured
by it. The case was so similar to my
own that I concluded to try the reme
dy. The result was wonderful. I could
hardly realize that I was well again,
or believe it could.be so after-having
suffered so long, but that one bottle
of medicine, costing but a few cents,'
cured me." For sale by R. H. Jordan
