CHARLOTTE NEWS APRIL 10 1906 8 SUFFERED AGONIES FOR FOUR YEARS Whole Foot Nothing But Proud Flesh Tried Different Physicians and All Kinds of Ointments Could Walk Only With Crutches-Ohio Wan Says : . "CUTICURA REMEDIES THE BEST ON EARTH " - "In the j-ear 1S99 the side of my right foot was cut off from the little toe down to the heel, and the physician who had charge ot me was trying to sew up the side of my foot, " but with no success. When he found out that wouldn't work, he began trying to heal the wound with all kinds of ointment, , unt il at last my whole fot and way up above my calf was nothing but proud flesh. I suffered un told agonies for four years, and tried different physicians and all kinds of oint ments. I could walk only wit h crutches. It is sixteen months ago since I began using Cuticura Soap and Ointment for my limb and foot. The first two months the Cuticura Remedies did not seem to work, but I kept on using them both. In two weeks afterwards I saw a. change in my limb. Then I began using Cuticura Soap and Ointment often dur ing the day and kept it up for seven months, when my limb was healed up just the same as if I never had,J:rouble. ."It is eight months now since I stopped using Cuticura Remedies, the best on Gcd's earth. I am working at the present day, after five years of suffering. The cost of Cuticura Ointment and Soap was only 6; but the doctors' bills were more like $600. You can publish my name and refer any one to write to me about Cuticura Remedies. I will answer all letters if postage is enclosed. John M. Lloyd, 71S S. Arch Ave., Alliance, Ohio, June 27, 1905." Viscount Kelburne is thirty-two years of age, good looking, clever, popular and rich. He has been a lieu tenant in the royal navy since 1S97. He has been on duty on the battle-ship Renown since June. 1005. His father is the seventh Earl o Glasgow, the title dating back to 1703. GUARANTEED BY R. H. JORDAN & CO. Simple Way to Cure Catarrh by Hy omei Without Stomach Dosing. Tt is the height "of folly to dose the stomach with internal medicines to cure nasal catarrh. It cannot be cur ed except the catarrhal germs pres ent in the nose, throat and lungs have first been killed. The soothing air of Hyomei heals the raw and smarting membrane of the air passages in the nose, throat and lungs, kills off the catarrhal germs and rids the system of the last traces of catarrh. The complete Hyomei outfit consists of a hard rubber inhaler which can bo carried in the purse or vest pocket, a medicine dropper, and a bottle of Hy omei, and costs only one dollar, while extra botles can be obtained for 50 cents. R. II. Jordan & Co. positively guar antee a cure when Hyomei is used in accordance with the simple directions on the package, or they will refund the mony. This certainly .. shows their faith and belief in the virtues of Hyo mei. If not convenient to obtain Hyoroei of R.' II. Jordan or some other drussist it will be forwarded from the laborato ry by mail on receipt of price. ..The It .T. Booth Co., Hyomei Blrfgr., Ithaca. N. Concord is to have a third building and loan associ ation ready for operation some time in May and the charter is being prepared and stock has already been sold. Mr. C. B. Wagoner, cashier of the Citizens ' Bank and Trust Company, is the prime i mover in this new association. A white man by the name of King a carpenter by trade, was " held up" and robbed on Church street Saturday night by three negroes. According to King's statement he was slightly "wiped up" and had no compass. King asked one of the negroes for directions to his home in Forest Hill. The negro suggested that he was going that way and would gladly escort him. After the duet had gone a few yards one of the African confederates knocked the car penter down and there was a scuffle during which a five dollar bill was torn in two. The matter was afterward re ported to the police. King's loss was about fifteen dollars. No arrests have been made. He was badly cut up and bruised. Tim Barnhardt, a Gibson Mill mer chant, was arrested this afternoon. Barnhardt was loaded with corn whis key and armed with two eight inch barrel horse pistols, a six inch Colt and smaller arms. When he was brought in headquarters by Officers Benfield and Eraswell, Chief Roger said he didn't know that there was so many guns in the world. Barnhardt was found just beyond the city cemetery within the corporate limits, firing at a gattling gun rate. Besides these, another se rious charge against him will be pre fcwci v-VnVh nlnnft would entitle the ' offender to penitentiary table d hotel meals for some time to come. The (merchant's conduct was disgustingly obscene and repulsive to even a town "rounder." Fortunately his bullets an went wild and no bodily harm was done but this fact is more a matter of luck than management as it was a pleasant day and many people includ ing ladies and children were on his hunting grounds not far from Gov ernor Glenn's headquarters while in the city today. SEEKS MISSING CHILD. Lockhart Thinks Daughter Is in Wash ington Taken Away by a Woman. Richmond, Va., April Y. Charles D. Lcckhart, who is searching for his five-year-old daughter, Ruth, said to be held by a woman named Josie Russell, rPtm-TiPfi nn Tuesday from Ohio, where he has been prosecuting the search. Last night he left tor Washington, where the search will be continued. Mr. Lockhart says he is upon th? track of the woman and believes that he will find her in Washington. He says that a certain house in Washing ton, at which the woman is presumed to be staying, is being closely watched. The case has been placed in the hands of detectives, and the search will be thorough. Mr. Lockhart says the woman is now being shadowed by women detectives. He hints at sensa tional developments when she is found. Thirty thousand circulars have been printed and distributed throughout the country. They are headed with a pic ture of the missing woman and a de scription of her, and state that a re ward will be paid for information lead ing to the recovery of the child, which was placed in the woman's hands ty the Children's Home Society of Vir ginia. This society obtained posses sion of the child when her father was arrested upon the charge of crimi nal assault, instigated, it is said, by the Russell woman. iockhart says that he has been ap proached by a person with a proposi tion that if he will pay a certain wo man ?100 she will tell him where Josie Russell can be found. Josie Rus sell persists in keeping her where abouts hidden. There is no charge against the wo man and nothing in the case upon which a charge can be made. The child was given into her. possession by the Children's Home Society before she left the city. If she should return the worst that could be done to her would be to take the child from her. Mr. Lockhart says the story that the child is the heiress of Charles Lockhart, the Pittsburg millionaire, is not true, in that the child can never inherit the millions while he lives. He says that he was named after Charles Lockhardt of Pittsburg. STORK HOLD U PA TRAIN. Not a Passenger Grumbled When Kept Waiting an Hour. Urbana, 111., April 9 While a Big Four passenger train was held an hour at Muncie, near Urbana.. a baby boy was born to Mrs. G. L. Bobyne, a young Kentucky woman who was travelling from Maysville, Ky., to join her hus band here. Not a passenger grumbled at t!e waiting. A bis cheer went up from the group outside the coach when the annov-ncemen't was made that "mother and child are doing well." When a physician gave the ' signal the train moved on. His Wisdom. From the Columbus Dispatch. After King Solomon had offered to cut the famous infant in half the moth ers were so tickled over his tact that they wanted to elect him judge of the next baby show. "Not for mine," exclaimed Solomon, vigorously. "I wouldn't pe judge at a baby show for all the gold in my mines." "But Ave thought you were so wise," insisted the mothers. ' "I am ladies, and that is the very reason why I decline to be judge." d ft oulypr ETAOIN ETAONINNNN If the north pole is ever discovered it will be by a man who is able to keep cool.
