Adams, who has been under treatment in a New York hos pital for several weeks is expected back before the end of the year. Miss Ruth Lillard left this morning for Lenoir to attend the Gwyn-Hick-erson wedding on Wednesday. Miss Lillard will play the wedding march. ( Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Richardson left Saturday for Brunswick, Ga. Mrs. Richardson will spend the holidays there with her parents. Mr. Richard son will return to Charlotte before Christmas. Mrs. John J. Pelzer and little son, John J. Pelzer, Jr., who have been making Charlotte their home for sev eral months, leave this afternoon to join Mr. Pelzer at West Hoboken, N. J. Mr. Pelzer was with the Farben fabriken, of Elberfield Co., in this city and has been transferred to the New York office. Their Char lotte friends regret very much to lose them. Miss Mary Graham has returned from New York to spend the holidays with her father, Mr. Archibald Gra ham, on North Brevard street. Miss Graham is attending the Teacher's College in New. York, further preparing herself for primary teaching. 1 Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Johnston, of Richmond, Va., have arrived in the city and are with Miss Julia Robertson, on West Trade street. They will be here until after Christmas. Adjutant General T. R. Robertson, National Guard of North Carolina and Mrs. Robertson, who are living in Ral eigh, have arrived in Charlotte for the holidays and are with Miss Julia Rob ertson. Miss Bessie Rossell, daughter of Major W. T. Rossell, U. S. A., station ed near Cincinnati, will arrive in the city to-morrow morning and will be the guest of Miss Minta Jones, at the home of Mrs. John Wilkes during the holidays. Miss Flcrence Oliver has arrived in the city for the holidays and is with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Oliver, on South Tryon street. Miss Oliver is a student at Vassar. - In Honor Mrs. Alexander and Miss Davidson. Mis. W. W. Phifer will entertain this afternoon in honor of Mrs. Thomas W. Alexander, nee Spruill, and Miss Mary Davidson, of Quincy, Fla. The latter is visiting Mrs. P. P. Zimmer man. She stopped in Charlotte on her way home after an absence of six months in Europe. Mr. and Mrs. Craig Celebrating. Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Craig, of Gastonia, are celebrating today the fiftieth anniversary, or golden wedding anniversary of their marriage. McLean, who has for a year and longer been a member of the local staff of The News, has accepted a positon in the business office of the Hattiesburg, Miss., News,. and left yes terday to take up his duties there. Mr. McLean is a good, newspaper man, kindly, courteous, obliging and full of energy and he leaves a large circle of firiends behind him, who regret to see him get so far away from the old Tar Heel base. He not only has a nose for news but he often puts a touch of subtile, delicate humor in his "stories," which make him an at tractive writer when he "lays himself out" on a "story". The News regrets to part with Mr. McLean but wishes him well in his new field. Scottish Rite Masons..
