Gray, who came here a week ago from Texas, surrendered yesterday to the local police. By a strange chance a man was found here who had knowl edge of the tragedy and he identified Gray. A fight followed. Sim mons, Gray says, passed a knife to his sister, who stabbed Gray several times in the back. Thereupon Gray drew his revolver and shot Simmons.
