By a vote of 14 to 47 the senate today refus ed to table Senator Ashurst's motion to proceed with consideration of the constitutional amerfdment for woman suffrage. Among the senators who voted to table the motion were Banknead, Bry an, Gore, James, Overman, Robinson, Shields, Smith of South Carolina, Swanson and Tillman. Immediatelv Senator Ashurst pro ceeded to discuss the resolution. He had no idea of reaching a vote at tliirs time, however.
