Sixteen nurses, 12 of them public health nurses and four serving in pediatricians’ offices, are taking the course one day a week for 12 weeks. The nurses are learning to screen healthy children by taking medical histories and counseling parents. This will allow the doctors to spend more time with the very sick patient.
