Berrigan
To
Speak
On Monday, November 25
at 8:00 in the Parquet Room
the University Program Board
Lectures Committee and United
Religious Ministry will present
Father Daniel Berrigan,
well-published anti-Vietnam war
opponent during the 1960's.
Perhaps he is better known as
one of the Berrigan brothers
who were imprisoned for
willingly violating entrance
regulations to a U.S. Draft
Board office and destroying
valuable Draft Registration
papers.
Reverend Daniel Berrigan
was a Jesuit priest who helped
organize an interdenominational
protest committee called
"Clergy Concerned about
Vietnam". The topic of his
lecture will be "Order-Disorder:
Here I Stand" which concerns
civil and human rights in the
new barbarism.

Early Saturday morning,
November 9, three students
representing the UNCC Outing
Club left for Hanging Rock
N.C., anticipating two days of
rock climbing and rapelling.
Arriving around 11 a.m., we
hiked from our campsite to
Moore's Well. Due to a hurrBn
error, the only equipment we
had available were one rope and
one karabiner which limited our
climbing activity somewhat.
Chip Hunter, president of the
Outing Club and a certified
instructor in rock climbing, led
us in some top-roping and a
slightly painful body rapell.
After two climbs of 60 feet
each, we called it a day and
relaxed by hiking to nearby
Cascade Falls.
On Sunday we hiked to the
Lookout Tower on top of
Moore's Knob, elevation 2500
feet. After taking in the
impressive view, we made one
climb of about 75 feet, which
included a small overhang; then
Chip and Chris Baugham
attempted to practice their
ability by scaling the lookout
tower. I did not fee! so inclined
myself. Having had enough
climbing for one weekend, we
headed back to UNCC, slightly
sore but nonetheless satisfied.
Four brothers of the Eta
Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa
Psi at UNCC attended a
Regional Presidents Conference
held at the University of
Richmond, October 16-18.
Regional chapters in attendance
were the University of
Richmond, University of
Virginia, VPI, Christopher
Newport, Western Carolina, and
UNCC. The conference was
hosted by the Delta 2eta
Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi at
the University of Richmond.
The conference was
convened to discuss the
upcoming National convention
to be held in Minneapolis, the
City of Lakes, in August 1975
and to provide an opportunity
for chapters to discuss
informally successful projects
and problem areas of their
respective chapters.

Student Affairs
Salaries
Where does the money go?
they all ask and the question is
rightly posed. As a fitting
denouement to last week's
article "Student Service
Department Plans New
Position" by Brad Rich, and in
accordance with the Journal's
new policy of publishing the
salaries of everybody
everywhere, the Journal hereby
publishes the salaries of those
adult-type people employed in
what the University cunningly
terms 'Student Services'.
This listing does not include
the salary of the. future
'Assistant Dean of Students',
which somehow makes this
entire article seem to miss the
point.
For those of you who
