University
Christmas Party -
December 15
There will be a University
Community Christmas party to
be held Sunday, December 15
from 4:00 to 5:30 at the Cone
University Center. This party is
sponsored by the Cone
University Center, the office of
Development and UNCC Distaff
Club.
A special committee,
headed by Mrs. Nancy Nixon, is
working with a group of 18 to
20 adolescents to plan and
present puppet shows, guitar
music, recorder music, and
. autoharp to the young children.
The children will have their own
;special show, decorations, favors
and refreshments and will join
the adults for a final carol sing
around the big Christmas tree in
the Parquet Room. Adults will
have refreshments and a short
program by Dr.William Dailey's
chorus will be presented.
The purpose of this event is
to develop a 'sense of
community' within the total
. UNCC community. All students,
Jfaculty and staff along with
®.their children are invited.
" If anyone has anything, new
■or used, which you would like
to give, bring it, wrapped and
labeled, and it will be placed
„ under the tree. These gifts will
'^be distributed to those who
. ;'need them by the Mecklenburg
:jjCounty Department of Social
^Services.

tradition to be expanded and
improved each year.

Al Gilbert, a professional of
Jazz and Tap and Musical
Comedy at California State
University in Fullerton,
California has been the first
guest teacher in the dance
department of the BCA. Gerda

three classes, which were
enthusiastically received by all
involved".
The BCA Department as a

bringing in special teachers,

purpose for bringing in these
guests is to "enrich the program
as a whole," Ms. Zimmerman
said.
Gilbert is also director of
his Theatre Dance and Music

today Gilbert is primarily a
