Every thing’s pretty good. 1 jgttt
wish they would show the films
on Fridays and Saturdays rather
than Sundays and Mondays.
Alan Tiddy
Political Science
I enjoy it. I can’t afford to go to
other places in town so its great.
Susan Saltz
Nursing
I haven’t seen too much but I
like the movie selection and the
speakers. The Rathskellar has
been too much of everything
along the same line, but on the
whole the entertainment is
pretty good.
Beth Griffith
HDL Graduate
I haven’t been to many, but I
think the ones that have been
scheduled are pretty good.
Vicky Beheler
Nursing
I think the entertainment has
improved vastly since last year. 1
mally liked the Lenny Bruce
skit (iiat was in the Rat and that
Monty Python Hick.
Bill Pursell
Geography
1 think its been great since there
have been so many tickets sold
for people like Jimmy Buffet. 1
work at the Information Desk
and I've seen a lot of people
who have been really interested
in what is going in the
entertainment on campus.

Parking; The Student Criminal
To the Students:
I am presently incarcerated
without privilege of bail at
Central Prison in Raleigh,
writing not to ask for your help,
but to warn you against crimes
of passion, lest one of you
should come to this awful place.
My crime, though it was not
planned, was a dastardly one and
I hold no grudge against the
administration, the security
department, or the law
enforcement officers who
brought me here.
On the night of November
17th, 1975, I drove my green
1966 Chevrolet Vz ton pickup
(with the word CHEVROLET
on the tail gate which is
normally painted white, painted
green also), across the parking
lot in front of the classroom
buildings. I make no excuse: I
knew the lot was designated "B”
stickers only, and that I only
had an "E" sticker. (On my
bumper which incidentally is
painted white.)
I heard an automobile
backfire and thought someone
was being assassinated, so I
slowed my truck, looking
around to see who it might be.
Sadly I forgot the five second
rule, and blocked a young lady
from parking her car. As my
luck would have it, she was none
other than the assistant secretary
to the vice chancellor in charge
of new storm drains, and she
promptly did her duty and had
me locked up.
As previously stated in this
letter, I am not asking for help,
and since I'm considerably over
30 years old, I would never
suggest that the students stage a
park in to force the Board of
Trustees to consider that there
might be inequeties in parking
regulations at the university.
This strategy didn't work for
Black citizens in the sixties and
it won't work today.
The sane approach is to
accept the fact that the
university cannot function
without secretaries, typists,
stenographers, painters, printers,
clerks, gardners, cooks, cashiers.
carilloneurs and what have you,
and the university would be
most unfair if they were not
given special parking advantage
over students.
With Justice Douglas'
retirement from the bench, a'
speedy trial for me is unlikely,
but I am staying busy studying
the catalogue from UNCC,
which I was fortunate enough to
purchase for one dollar before
my arrest. If any of you wish to
show me some kindness, please
send me some sesame and
sunflower seeds from the
bookstore, if they have any, as I
am getting awfully tired of
baloney.

Registration inadequate
To the Students:
I can not agree more with
the article stating the
inadequacies of registration at
UNCC. I too have had to stand
in long lines for hours getting
classes I didn't want and not
getting classes I needed. As for
pre-advising I found out about it
the day it ended. The lack of
communication of
administration and students is
acute and the media is not to
blame. I know of the Carolina
Journal in many instances trying
earnestly to gain needed
information from faculty and
staff only to be stifled by
answers of "we don't know
anything yet," or "we will let
you know." In that case, we'll
all have to wait till hell freezes
over.
WVFN has time and time
again run ads in the Carolina
Journal expressing our desire for
administrators and student
organizations to give us all
upcoming events and
information for broadcast. After
all, that is part of our purpose of
being here, to provide
entertainment and information.
The only diligent provider of
information on campus is the
Rathskeller which every week
brings us the upcoming events
for publicising, thanks to Andy
Pincus.
At the beginning of this
academic year. WVFN broadcast
"Live Ear" news reports from
the gym on closed classes. We
received favorable response.
WVFN and the Carolina
Journal are the media that can
immediately inform students of
all events on campus, t am
asking all groups on campus,
from administration to student
organizations, to help us inform
the students by relaying ail
important information to us so
the student can benefit, what
have we got to lose, except an
uninformed university populace.

PIRG
(continued from page four)
-Students of NC PIRG have
also carried on work in a large
number of other consumer and
environmental projects, such as
auto repair fraud, deceptive
advertising for food, sex
discrimination in consumer
credit, energy conservation, and
tenants' rights.
In order to establish a PI RG
chapter at UNCC we will start a
petition drive during registration
for the spring semester. For this
we need the support of all
students interested in the aims
of PIRG. To all students who
refuse to let our generation be
called the dormant, copped-out
generation, we extend an
invitation to attend our
December 2nd meeting in room
.210 of the Cone University
Center at 6:30 pm.
Let's not allow future
generations a chance to look
back at a dormant generation.
