Sixteen .students will receive their As.sociate of Arts
diploma in exercises scheduled for June 8. This number con
stitutes one of the smallest classes to graduate from Charlotte
College in a number of years.
Those persons scheduled to grad
uate are: William Hardis Bass.

Brice, Jr., Kenneth Monroe Bridges,
Jr., Arthur Coburn Farley, Jr., and
Sula Floros.

dents expect to enter the Unive>'-
.■ ity of North Carolina in the fall
of this year. One student, Scott
Whitchtr. Jr., will receive his B.S.
degree from New Bedford School
of Textiles, New Bedford, Massa
chusetts, on the same day he re
ceives his Associate of Arts at
Charlotte College.
At least two of the graduating
students are expected to atiend
Davidson College this fall, one is
expected to attend the University
of South Carolina, and at least one
is expected to enter Georgia Tech.
Marshals Named For
Commencement Exercises
Recently named as marshals in
the forthcoming graduation exer
cises, were Martha Stogner. Mrs.
Kay Morrow, Bill Davis, and Rob
ert Hickey.
Marshals are chosen for their
high scholastic record, and for
their high achievement in extra
curricular activities. Miss Stogner
and Mrs. Morrow will appear as
senior marshals, and Bill Davis and
Robert Hickey will appear as jun
ior marshals.
IS Former CC Students
To Graduate At UNC
Sixteen former Charlotte College
students will graduate from the
University of North Carolina in
graduation exercises scheduled foi
June 8th, 19.5.3. This is the largest
number of Charlotte College stu
dents to graduate from UNC since
the beginning of Charlotte College
in 1946.
Those scheduled to graduate are:
Hugh Adams, Glenn Bawghman,
John Gamble, Re.x Huntley, Bob
Isaacs. John Jamison, Roberta
Jones, Bill Kennedy, Garland Kirby,
Robert C. Kirkpatrick, Buck Ma
loney, Carolyn Reichard, Sarah
Walker, Jim Zeller, Horace Go-
lightly and Newton Smith.

The Charlotte College Baccalaur
eate service will be held in the
Myers Park Methodist Church on
Sunday evening, June 7, at eight
o’clock, with the Rev. Chesley C.
Herbert, Jr., delivering the sermon.
A large number of students,
friends of graduates, and relatives
of graduates are expected to attend
this service.
Dr. Joseph C. Robert To Speck
At Commencement Exercises
Dr. Joseph C. Robert, President
of Coker College, will be the speak
er for the graduation exercises
which are scheduled for June 8 at
8:1.5 in the evening in the Central
High School auditorium. Students,
friends, and relatives are cordially
invited to attend this exercise.

Publications Editors
Elected For 1953-54
New editors and business man
agers for the two publications of
Charlotte College were recently
elected from a field of twelve can
didates. These officers are the Edi
tor of Charlotte Collegian, Business
Manager of the Charlotte Colleg
ian, Editor of Si Si, the annual, and
Business Manager of Si Si.
Glenn Keever and Gary Lang-
horst were named as editors of the
Charlotte Collegian and Si Si, re
spectively.
Barbara Morris and Frank Davis
were elected business managers of
the Si Si and the Charlotte Col
legian, respectively.
The duties of these officers will
begin in September of 1958.
