DUKE POWER COMPANY chairman; and Kanela Maydanis. assistant chairman, were in charge of the festivities, which were held at Bryant Park from G to 8:.‘i0 P. M., on October 19. Hot dogs, beans, slaw, potato salad, and chili were consumed by the ton, and gallons of Coca-Cola washed them down. Mr. and Mrs. Hoyle and Dr. and Mrs. Wheelock watched over the proceedings to hold everything down to a dull roar. The only tragedy to the outing was the fact that someone forgot to bring any mustard. This was, of course, a calamity, but the unfor- seen occurrance didn’t seem to harm the appetites of the raven ously hungry crowd. Johnny Craig said that plans were underway to hold a similar outing next spring. Many of the students brought dates. The married men brought their wives. And children! It was very cold and very dark when the last of the picnickers stumbled their way to their cars. Everyone ate and ate and seemed to enjoy the calorie-free holiday. Another day, another dollar, and the 1958 Detroit models are more luxurious than ever. There isn't much driving involved—just push a button. This, of course, suits Robert McKathern just fine, be cause now he can play bridge while on his way from one card party to another. Don’t forget to support the Owls in basketball this year. They play on Saturday nights, so bring a date. To the tens of thousands who asked: You are reading the next issue of the Collegian right now.
