The Youns 3Iau Sot Married. Winston, N. C, March 5th, 1892. Mr. Editor. In your last issue of "The Concord Standard," we note, that srme person in our City purposely advised you, that Mr. II D Ilarwood had been married. No blame i attached to you in the mat ter, but we would like to say in his behalf, that he ha3 made no such alliance v.r is not married. The party who advised you, per hars had somo desiirn in view to damage the character of Mr. liar wood, which is certainly above r preach. It rr.ight also be necessary to state, that he is our book-keeper and wc will wacr that, he hoV.h a higher position thai 'the par wl.Oj endeavored, ly his base lie, to do him hamf. We think this 3.eru!I rentto ckaf up the "mystery" and put Mr. Harwood'd friends at ease. ' Very truly. - . WT. 1?. Ellis K Co. Some days ago the Standr pub- lished theccount of tl5e marriage of fir. Lawyer J M Brown has the neat est little dwelling in Stanly county, The report that went over the , state to the effect that Dr. xnderson had assigned is a mistake. He will bo waited on formally in regrrd to whether he will carry the mayoral ity contest to victory. Several new houses are going up. The paint brush has beautified others. There is some feeling over the imaginary effort to move the court house to another site. A cartoon, on sheeting, representing a few prominent and public spirited men and the. masses, was found decorating the court house, one morning. The artistic drawing has been filed in the archives of gravity. There are some here who are strong for Hill, but many are for a western man.
