f robably the longest race on rec
ord was, made recently at Deer
Lodge, Mon.; to test the powers of
endurance of two celebrated horses.

eight minutes, inning a purse of
one thousand dollars. He seemed
fresh and anxious to finish out the
hundred while his competitor could
