wa3 a bad wreck of a freight train
two miles west of here, at 1:30 this
moral nr, on the Seaboard Air Lin?,
and it appears to have been caused
by trumps. The vestibuled train

running on its echedule. Four

place late yesterday afternoon, and
it iu believed they removed or un
fastened a rail. The engine and five
cars dashed down a thirtyfeet em
bankment, and were wrecked. The
uine turned entirely over, and all
its suppe-r-worka were torn away.
Engineer John Kobinson, of K-il-eigb,
escaped with a couple of broken
ribs, but foreman Lewis Overly,
colored, aUo of Raleigh, was caught
beneath the engine and instantly
killed. It required several hours'
hard work to secure his body. Htj
