ederate Memorial day, May 10th
next Monday. The exercises will
held in the court house on Memorial
Day at 4 o'clock in Ahe afternoon.
The Association extends a most
cordial invitation to the old veterans
and. the new organization, the Sons
of Confederate Veterans aad to thei
Cabarrus Light Infantry to be
present. The band is also invited

A charitable bazaar was being
held in Pans, France, Tuesday when
an explosion of the illuminating ap
paratus of the kinemateograph oc
curred and in a yery short time the
building was all aflame.
The usual panic occurred and the
weak were the victims of the strong
whose fright excluded all merc and
prudence.
The victims number from one to
two hundred including many promi
ment personages, conspicuous in jhe
charitable enterprise. j
When the building collapsed it
caught many who were unable to
reach the exit in time and they with
thu trampled and the crushed were
mangled into conditions horrible in
the extreme.
