Gray killed a large bear near Wheat Swamp last Thursday Eight The bear w?.s in poor condi tion but weighed 215 pounds. The bear had killed two hogs for cue of Mr. Gray's neighbors the night be fore. S D Steffey, has found a suitable place to erect the new pro posed Lutheran church. The loca tion is on the property of Mr, Eph riam Bost, near the big road, three miles from Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Bost has very generously donated the land, and work will soon commence on the building of the new house of worship. Rey. Steffey preached at the Plot! school house Sunday afternoon to a large congregation. He has appoint ed trustees for the new church. , Notice of Dissolution. The steamer Htsperides from Cuba to Baltimore with a cargo of iron was stranded on Dia mond shoals Saturday night. The ship and cargo were entirely lost but the crew were all saved.
