J E Gay, af ter which the hymn, 4 'Father of Mer cy Send Thy Grace," was sung. ' It may be a matter of news to some who can not attend to know that this body uses no or gan when they sing these hymns, but every one - heartily ; joins in the song. ' . Bishop Key stated that he had in his hands an amount of anti niorman literature for distribu tion, and suggested that the min isters give this matter their, atten tion. - ", , The second question, "Who remains on trial," was then taken up. Jas. W Campbell was continued in the class of the first year. Luther E Peeler was ad vanced to the second year. ..' Under the eight question, W B Scarboro was continued An the class of the second year. The following were elected to elder's orders: H K Boyer, Robt. S Howie, Thos. A Sinoot, Robt. G Tuttle, and Robt. L Ownby. w Leonidas L . Smith and TE Weaver were continued in the class of the fourth year - V The case of G H Crowell which was left from the day before, was taken up. It was moved that the question of education be taken up tomor row morning at 11 o'clock, and that Dr. J C Kilgo be requested to address the conference on that subject."" V The committee appointed the day before to investigate com plaints against Rev. J A Green, reported that, a trial would be necessary, that the charges could be heard. The report was approved by the conference, and ministers wore appointed to con duct the trial privately. ' The charges against the minister were not read to the conference, but they are charges reflecting upon his character. Under this head the name of Rev. T W Mansfield was called and a good amount of discussion followed. It seems that Rev. Mansfield was ordered to a charge and failed to go, but after discussion it was found that his exceedingly destitute circum stances was the cause of him not responding and not any. ill-will. He had requested that he be lo cated and his request was granted. v Rev H L Atkins offered reso lutions for the help of Brevard Epworth school, owing to its weak financial condition, asking that collections be taken by the churches on Thanksgiving day and by the Sunday Schools and Epworth Leagues at or near that date for this school and that the ministers solicit aid for same. This was referred to a committee. Among the names of the laity Prof P P Claxton was substi tufed for J A Young, and C A Landreth for W B Bradshaw.
